For Your Listening Wellness
Music can lessen the debilitating effects of anxiety and depression. Research shows that music can have a positive effect on brain chemicals that are linked to feelings of pleasure, such as dopamine. It also shows that music has a beneficial effect on the brain chemical oxytocin, the so-called ‘love hormone.’ Music can, quite literally, lift one’s spirits. Listening to music, humming, or singing along, perhaps, or reading the lyrics, or just taking it in, can help one navigate difficult thoughts or feelings, ever reminding us that we needn’t suffer in isolation. Even a dark song can brighten one’s mood. For Your Listening Wellness is an immersive experience of the healing power of music.
