Humanity is approaching a milestone in which we must decide how we will navigate and the future we have created for ourselves. Our species is beginning to collide with the consequences from our past decisions, which have now become too large to continue neglecting and must be confronted. If we continue down the path we have been traversing since the industrial revolution, chances are we will significantly shorten the longevity of mankind and manifest a worse reality for ourselves. However, we do have the opportunity to bring revolutionary change and alter our lifestyles so we can coexist with the planet we live on instead of fighting against it. As designers we are constantly presented with opportunities to bring forth this change, not necessarily in huge bounds that completely alter society, but rather through smaller innovations that lead to dramatic change. Change like this can come in the form of the simplest objects like in this case, a three legged stool. One of the most rudimentary and fundamental objects, it is the perfect vessel for testing new methods of sustainable production. This stool demonstrates the early testing of sustainable composite materials, which have the potential to divert waste from landfills and instead give it a new life through long lasting objects
