Mystic Nostalgia
Sometimes we wonder what life was like in the past and start fantasizing about all the colors and patterns and events that happened back then. We are tantalized by pop culture—music, television shows, movies—that recreate a past we will never know. Gazing up at the night sky I ask the all-knowing stars what it was really like living in the 1960s? The 1970s? How about the 1980s or 1990s? I can only dream the answers. My heart yearns to experience those decades. I grieve the palette, the graphics, the aesthetics, the experiences I could have shared with those who actually lived it. Maybe I fantasize about it too much. Maybe my imagination gets the best of me. Mystic Nostalgia is a series of motion graphics and posters designed to recreate the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. It is for viewers who, like me, have a heavy heart for a past one can only dream about.
