Cognitive Resilience
Sometimes we can predict how we’re going to feel about something, like predicting the weather. But sometimes it just rains, and we don’t know why. The mind is a powerful thing. We can underestimate its capacity to influence our behavior. The mind is rational. It can lure us into thinking we must conform to certain societal standards. The mind is delicate. Our mental health depends on our taking care of ourselves. Taking care of ourselves is one of the best investments we can make in life. How we cope with weather can help us develop skills to better manage our feelings. For instance, we choose not to let rain keep us from leaving the house. Likewise, our unsettled emotions needn’t take over our day or influence our decisions. We can ride out the emotional storm, the sun will shine again. I have some personal experience with wavering emotions and have also done a significant amount of research. Cognitive Resilience is designed to help users stem the tide of emotional upheaval and reset their thinking in the moment.
