Cultura
Mexican culture is reflected through vivid colors and dynamic art forms, delicious cuisine, longstanding traditions, and deep-rooted values, all of which continue adapting to the demands of the modern world. One’s culture plays a significant role in the formation of one’s identity, communication, history, creativity, and education. One way to understand oneself better is to learn about and appreciate different cultures. Augmented reality (AR) makes this possible. As a Mexican American designer, I am interested in AR and the opportu-nities it presents visual communicators. To offer viewers a taste of Mexican culture, I designed digital visual elements, using associative words like ‘chile’ and ‘jumping bean’ to create colorful interactive AR experiences.
